Our R+D area will be responsible for providing our wet-lab and bioinformatic teams with cutting-edge technologies.
AllGenetics is very happy to announce the incorporation of Dr Jorge Doña, an outstanding biologist trained at the Estación Biológica de Doñana (Sevilla, Spain), for an initial period of 2 years. Dr Doña currently holds a post-doctoral position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign – Illinois Natural History Survey (United States of America).
While skilled in statistics and most interested in the evolution of host-symbiont systems, Dr Doña specialises in genomics and ecology. With an exceptional performance during his PhD thesis, he can be considered at this moment one of the most talented young researchers in Spain and we are very proud that he has decided to join our company. While at AllGenetics he will continue to carry out his own research, in collaboration with our staff and his colleagues in Illinois.
As a scientific company, AllGenetics’ decision to create a new independent R+D area is seen as strategic by its general manager, Dr Joaquín Vierna. In his own words, «the work carried out by our R+D staff will secure our continual improvement culture and help to develop our scientific excellence; for us this is essential». «Our intention is to provide this new area with more talent over the next few years, and for the R+D area to grow at the same pace as the company as a whole», he added.
