This 29th September, AllGenetics will celebrate its 12th anniversary, further cementing its standing as a leading genomic services provider in Europe.
Founded in 2011 at the business incubator of the Universidade da Coruña, the company has steadily grown over the years. Now boasting a team of 22 employees, the company has become a significant player in the fields of high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics in Europe.
A committed, united, and client-oriented team lies at the core of this Spanish biotech firm. Despite global challenges, the company is on track to record a sales growth of approximately +20 % this year. “Our performance over the past year has been outstanding. In 2022, we surpassed a turnover of 1 million euros for the first time,” says Dr Joaquín Vierna, the company’s general manager. Moreover, in 2023 the company fully renovated its website, which is now more accessible and showcases a higher number of genomic services oriented towards different clients: agriculture and farming, environment, waste management, ecotoxicology, and food industries, as well as academic researchers.
Looking forward, AllGenetics aims to expand its genomic services portfolio. New services are being developed based on third-generation sequencing technologies. As part of its growth strategy, the company expects to add new members to the team in 2024, focusing on the projects and sales and marketing areas.
Among AllGenetics’ most demanded services are biodiversity characterisation through high-throughput sequencing, microbial genomics, plant and animal genomics, and bioinformatics. With clients in over 20 countries, AllGenetics develops genomic-based projects for the main research centres and universities in Europe from its headquarters in Oleiros (A Coruña, Spain).
“At AllGenetics we are particularly proud of our unique corporate culture, one that places well-being, commitment, and respect as foundational principles. That’s why we’ve managed to build an exceptional team of people that works hard to meet our clients highest standards”, Dr Vierna adds.
AllGenetics won the Galicia Spin-Off Award in 2016 and was distinguished as “SME of the Year” by the Galician Biologists Society in 2022.
